Rules
In order to keep maintenance costs low and our cemetery beautiful we ask:
Trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation not be planted in the cemetery.
All flowers be placed on the tombstone by saddle or vase or be hung from a shepherds hook placed against the tombstone.
Potted plants, flower stands, and other loose objects from the funeral be removed from the grave site after the ground has settled and the grass is growing.
Any sentimental objects placed at the grave site be tasteful and not interfere with the mowing and weed eating.
Old faded flowers and dead flowers be replaced or removed on a regular basis. Please discard any unwanted items in the containers provided.
Bricks, rocks, or other decorative objects not be used to outline or cover the grave site.
Please be aware:
We will help you mark the location of your lots and the placement of tombstones. Call Eddie Wells (501-425-8596).
On cemetery clean-up days, workers will discard old flowers and other objects from grave sites as they deem appropriate for appearance and maintenance. Any flowers or objects that have blown away from their original grave site also will be discarded. If you have a family member buried at Southfork or you have purchased lots in the cemetery, you and your family are now members of the Southfork Cemetery Association and are invited to attend the annual meetings and participate in cleanup days.
The Cemetery Association does not buy back unused cemetery lots, but we will accept them back as a tax-deductible donation. Or you can sell/transfer the lots to another person provided it is not for profit. To keep our records current, please notify Eddie Wells (501-425-8596) of any ownership changes.
The Southfork Cemetery is a non-profit organization and we depend on tax-deductible contributions from association members and patrons to meet our operating costs each year. These can be mailed to Stephanie Manning at P.O. Box 91, Gurdon, AR, 71743.
